The ‘Hot In Here’ rapper has taken a back seat from the music game in recent years in which he reveals he cared for his sister who was suffering from an illness.

Of course, Charlamagne, Angela Yee and DJ Envy, pressed Nelly on his supposed rival, Flo Rida, taking his spot and becoming one of the most successful crossover rappers ever.

Speaking about Flo’s debut single ‘Get Low,’ Nelly said:

“No, it wasn’t my song. I never actually heard the song. This the thing because people always try to do that. I got no issues with Flo, the business is what the business is. [But] do acknowledge that he f**ks with Nelly.”

“He’s a cool dude, there’s enough room for everybody to do their own thing.”

Nelly was then quizzed about his relationship with Ashanti who he has been dating for several years, and why they never speak about their romance in public.

“I always comment on what I’m doing, now when you comment on who I’m dating and all that, that’s something that seems to be more important to everybody else than to me,” Nelly explained.

“I know who I’m dating, I know what’s going on.”

“Me and babygirl we’re real cool. I don’t think anything’s going to change until me and her decide that we want to change it. But everyone think’s it’s my decision that we say what we say. It’s a mutual respect, it’s a mutual decision that we made.”
